The Whip

The "whip" is the name for the member of the fox hunt that is stationed around the perimeter to make sure the hounds don't go astray.  This painting was very different from its predecessor, the Millbrook Hunt Meet in that it had a simple composition and had a very quiet mood.   I wanted to give the painting a more dream-like quality to it, and this had an influence on a number of the city paintings of 2008.
