The scene is the Tea House in the Japanese Tea Garden, located in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The elements of the painting that interest me are the contrasting textures of the wood ceiling, the shadows on the table surface, and the leaves. Also, the plants on the table joining the inside to the outside. There is also a contrast between the main figure (Zoey) who is looking down, thoughts inward, and the woman behind her, who is gazing up and out.
