Red Hook – New York Harbor

It was a particularly windy late afternoon in Red Hook, looking out at the New York Harbor, with the New York Water Taxi, New Jersey and the Statue of Liberty in the background. I liked the movement of the waves and clouds, and the play of the rocks in the foreground. Compositionally, there are echoes of colors – the white in the clouds with the foam of the waves, the yellow in the Water Taxi with the hints of yellow in the waves, and the blue in the sky with the reflection of sky blue in the waves.
