Rooftop Garden

The setting is Christine and Julio’s rooftop garden in New York City. I wanted to show the garden set against the surrounding buildings. For the garden, I chose sunflowers, which were mostly at their peak, and some beyond. I liked the idea of setting the yellow-orange against the blue sky. For the background, I wanted to show depth. Here, the perspective lines of the buildings form a “V” and an inverted “V”, which play off the “U” shape formed by the flowers, and the eye alternates between the buildings at the center, in the distance, and the surrounding flowers, in the foreground.
