Inspired by a late-summer walk through the West Village, this painting captures a storefront where oversized poppies bloom both inside the windows and on the sidewalk outside the Astrid & Miyu jewelry store. A narrow glimpse of tree trunk and soft shadows falling across the right hint at a larger tree just out of view. The eye moves through the glass facade into the interior, then circles back outward. The composition is anchored by matching grey doors on either side—one lit by reflected light, the other in shadow. Figures appear in varying states: illuminated, obscured, or pictured.
