This painting draws inspiration from South Cove Park on the west side of Lower Manhattan. It depicts a warm summer evening with the light softening as day transitions to night. A figure crosses the bridge, gazing out at the Hudson River and the Jersey City skyline. The sails of a passing boat glow in backlight. The vertical stains on the bridge mirror the skyline’s verticals, while the distant clouds echo the horizon.
