The setting is St Marks Place in the East Village, NYC. The central focus is the mural, with a woman’s face set against a starry background, and flowing hair. The environment takes on aspects of the mural: the blossoms on the tree appear to be stars, two of the arched windows appear to be the woman’s eyes, the tree shadows appear to be extensions of the woman’s hair. The buildings themselves seem to have variations of skin color, punctuated by sky blue – the color of the woman’s lips.
