On Waverly Place

The setting is Waverly Place in the West Village, where I was captivated by the interplay of light and shadow, and the subtle hues of green and gray. The smoking mannequin and bunny stand watch, as a mysterious figure emerges from the doorway. This painting continues my exploration of blending inside and outside spaces, as well as the tension between horizontal and vertical lines with organic shapes.
The store front on the left displays a show globe similar to those found in Edward Hopper’s Drug Store.
