This is a tenement building on Saint Marks Place in the East Village. I was inspired to portray this as it is the site of the cover photo of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 album Physical Graffiti, currently the site of a tea shop called Physical GraffiTea.  The light is basically indirect from above, with some areas spot lit by reflections, however it is a bright sunny day, which is evident from window reflections. Each window gives us a glimpse, though sometimes distorted, of the opposing view.
