Prince Street

This is the Prince Street subway station, at the corner of Prince and Broadway in Soho.

I was interested in capturing the contrasts in the light and shadow, and the warm and cool colors, with the neutral grays. I was also interested in the tension between the orange and yellow in the bricks, and the blue, teal, and green.

It was also important to give the areas in shadow (interior, lower left, upper right) enough definition so that they would have depth. Otherwise, they would just appear flat and not have the same visual interest.
