The setting is the Lafayette Street in Noho, New York City, at Jones Ally. I was interested in the juxtaposition of the figure in the billboard, an ad for Ulla Johnson, against the rest of the scene. The blue unifies the background sky in the painting with the windows of the buildings, with the sky in the billboard.
