Water Towers

The setting is East Houston and Lafayette Street in New York.  I was inspired by the grouping of the three water towers, joined in the afternoon sun by the shadows of two others across a giant Calvin Klein “Secret Obsession” billboard.  The eye alternates between focusing on the shadows and the woman in the advertisement.  The BP canopy in the foreground punctuates the space.

This painting is part of the Copelouzos Family Art Museum’s “35×35 Art Project” in Athens, Greece.
