This painting features the White Horse Tavern on a late September afternoon in the West Village. The sun is streaming down West 11th Street. The street is lined with outdoor dining sheds, a common site in the Covid-era. The organic shapes of the backlit trees dominate the composition and provide a contrast to the more sedate lines and shapes of the Tavern building.
