A couple sits on the bank of the Seine in Paris as a cat stretches out nearby. In the background is the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Petit Pont (Little Bridge). This composition is dominated by diagonals, which lead the viewer to the couple in the foreground. The intention was to create a tension between the familiar landmark in the background and the couple.

Un couple est assis sur la rive de la Seine à Paris, pendant qu’un chat s’allonge près d’eux. La Cathédrale de Notre Dame est en arrière-plan. Cette composition est dominée par des lignes diagonales, qui guident le récipiendaire au couple en premier plan. Mon intention était de créer une tension entre le monument connu au premier plan et le couple.
