Zion – Along the North Fork Virgin River
Oil on Canvas, 2001, 24″ x 36″
This one was going to be the last in the series, and I wanted it to have a different feel. In Zion, you tend to look up at canyons instead of down into canyons. The river and trees take the foreground and middle ground, with the cliffs forming a curtain-like background. It’s a fairly calming setting, but it does not rely heavily on horizontal lines for stability.
