The setting of this painting is a summer night in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Through the trees in the distance, you can see hints of activity in Bartel-Pritchard Square. Here, however, all is quiet. Streetlamps cast dramatic light on the nearby trees, creating ghost-like shadows on the walking path.
