This painting captures the vibrant energy of East 6th Street at First Avenue in the East Village. The Ganesha mural, painted by Aida Miro, towers above the street, partially obscured by graffiti that bears the message “rise by lifting others.” The mural is reflected twice in the parked car, adding an interesting layer of depth to the composition. The blue hues in the painting are actually from a nearby building, but they complement the colors of the mural and graffiti perfectly.
